Priya Purushothaman is part of the new vanguard of young and diverse Hindustani vocalists and music educators. She is a disciple of Vidushi Aditi Kaikini Upadhya and Pandit Sudhindra Bhaumik and has received specialized training from the late Agra gharana stalwart Pandit Dinkar Kaikini and Smt Shashikala Kaikini. She has performed around India and abroad in noteworthy venues including the Barbican Centre, London; Carnegie Hall Neighbourhood Concert Series, New York; National Centre for Performing Arts, Mumbai; Kalakshetra, Chennai, among others. Priya is committed to propagating this art form by dedicatedly teaching a select group of students, conducting lecture-demonstrations and workshops at institutions in India and abroad, and by publishing writing on music and art. In the spirit of propagating and preserving the tradition she has inherited, she has documented her extensive interactions with Pandit Kaikini in her book, “Living Music: Conversations with Pandit Dinkar Kaikini,” published by Popular Prakashan.
Amritpalpal Singh Rasiya has diverse array of skills, known for his in depth understanding of complex rhythms as well having the ability to grasp spontaneous musical patterns on the spot. His experience ranges from performing Tabla solo as well as dance (contemporary, Kathak), Indian Classical Instrumental and vocal styles. Amritpal is a vibrant musician whose recognition is growing fast to be one of the leading Tabla players in the UK, representing the 'Punjab Gharana' school of Tabla and being a senior disciple of one of the world’s finest Tabla players, Pandit Yogesh Samsi of the Ustad Allarakha legacy.
Gurbaksh has trained in Tarshehnai and Dilruba by Ustad Kamaljeet Singh ji Chana, followed further training under Ustad Gurdev Singh a senior disciple of Ustad Amjad Aki Khan saheb. He has developed a unique style of singing and playing Tarshehnai. The key innovations in his style are compositions based on vocal music. He has performed before with many musicians and is today one of the most sought-after artistes.
