Music: StringFEST: Festival of Bowed, Plucked & Hammered Instruments

R.P.Prashanth & R.P.Pramod are popularly known as Rudrapatna Veena Brothers.

They are the sons of Vocal Vidwan "Kanchi Kaamakoti Peetham Asthana Vidwan" Sri. R K Prasanna Kumar and grandsons of Vainika Praveena Asthana Vidwan Sri R S KeshavaMurthy.

They come from a lineage of musicians who have been practicing Carnatic music for seven generations. They started playing the Veena at the tender age of 3 and 7 years.

Their musical journey began at home with their first guru being their parents Smt. Poornima and Sri. R K Prasanna Kumar which continues to the present day. They were also trained by Vidwan Sri. Srinivasa Murthaachar, Vidwan Sri. Subanna, Renowned Veena Maestro Kalaimamani Sri. R. K Suryanaryana (their paternal uncle). Vidwan Prashanth was privileged to be trained under “Kalaimamani” Dr. Smt. Jayanthi Kumaresh. Vidwan. Pramod debuted on the Television at the early age of 4.

The two brothers gave their Veena Duet debut in the year 2003 and have been performing together eversince. The brothers have acquired very good appreciation for their unique style of performance has won a wide acclaim and numerous awards.
