The Nehru Centre in association with the Commonwealth Music Academy Presents Beyond Boundaries- An Indo-British music ensemble to celebrate India UK friendship
The ensemble is led by violinist and Leadership Practitioner Sunita Bhuyan from India along with Eric Hui-Ti Wang - violin, David Ogilvy - Guitars, Ronojit Bhuyan – Piano, Sandeep Chakrabarty - tabla.
The concert will take us through engaging pieces from both the Indian and Western classical genres and ending in a finale of a folk music from England, Scotland and Northeast India
Sunita Bhuyan is a violinist and Leadership Practitioner from Assam, India who specializes in folk fusion and the art of collaboration using the metaphor of the orchestra. She is a pioneer in playing folk on the violin in India and her work on Creativity & Wellbeing has been recognized by the Pope at the Vatican and applauded by the Honourable PM of India recently. She was conferred the Women’s achievers award by the Hon Governor of Maharashtra for her contribution towards marginalized communities through music therapy during the pandemic as well as the Pride of Maharashtra for her performances for India@75 - Azaadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav.
Sunita recently offered a musical tribute for HM Queen Elizabeth the 2nd on behalf of the High Commission of India in the UK.
