Senior Advocate Dr. Aman Hingorani will share his decades of research on J&K and its people. He decrypts major milestones in the history of J&K, from the signing of the instrument of Accession in 1947 to the Reference to the United Nations in 1948 to the Abrogation of Article 370 in 2019, critically examining their stipulations and impact on global opinion on the Kashmir issue.
Dr. Hingorani places the Kashmir issue in context of the Partition politics on the Indian subcontinent, discusses the influence of Pakistan and China in parts of J&K considering geo-political and strategic realities, and outlines the possible depoliticization of the Kashmir issue through the International Court of Justice. He plucks lesser-known details about the Partition from obscurity and emphasizes their importance for charting a realistic path forward to resolve the Kashmir issue.
Dr. Hingorani, also an international arbitrator, mediator and adjunct faculty, has been invited to address national and international audiences, including various stakeholders, on the Kashmir issue, and to give expert evidence on the Kashmir issue before the Foreign Affairs Committee, House of Commons, UK Parliament on its inquiry on the UK Government’s tilt to the Indo-Pacific.
