Kalatva Collective is a dance and music project. It is a group of young artists from India and Germany, trained in different Indian classical art forms. Their project is all about exploring the borders of Indian classical dance and music and taking classical art beyond the conventions.
Mohit Dobhal has been learning Indian classical music from the age of 5 and now is under the guidance of Padmashri Pandit Madhup Mudgal from Gwalior Gharana. Mohit is a recipient of the Sahitya Kala Parishad scholarship for advanced training in Indian Classical music. He has done Sangeet Visharad (Bachelor-ate in Indian Music) & Sangeet Alankaar (Masters in Indian Music) from Gandharva Mahavidyalaya, New Delhi and Sangeet Shiromani (Advanced Masters in Indian Music) from Faculty of music, University of Delhi. He is a regular performer with different projects like Kalatva Collective, The Gandharva Choir and SwarAntar. He was also one of the musicians who represented India in the international choral music festival (Serenade Festival) at Kennedy Centre, Washington DC (June 2017).
Prabhat Das started learning tabla at the very young age. He is currently taking advanced training in the art of tabla from Pandit Virendra Malviya at New Delhi. Prabhat did his bachelor-ate degree in the Indian classical music, having tabla and Indian rhythms as major. He also holds a diploma called Sangeet Prabhakar in tabla. He is also teaching at an NGO called Music-Basti which works in bringing a change in the life of under-privileged kids through music.Prabhat also represented India internationally at “Ethno Music Exchanges” and has performed in Belgium & Germany (2015), Sweden (2016).
Ghazal Ramzani is a Kathak dancer with roots from Germany and Iran. After learning western classical music (violin and piano) at a very young age, making experiences with theatre and studying philosophy in Germany, she choose Kathak as her final love. After getting her initial dance training in Germany she moved to India to get the advanced training under the renowned kathak Guru, Pandit Rajendra Gangani .
