Pranita Choudhry is a disciple of (Padmashri) Guru Geeta Chandran at Natya Vriksha in New Delhi, India, and is trained in Bharatanatyam for the past 20 years in dance theory, practice and aesthetics. She presented her Arangetram (formal solo debut) in August 2011 under the tutelage of her Guru, and has since performed extensively in India and abroad. Apart from being a soloist, Pranita has also performed at prestigious dance festivals all over India as part of Geeta's Natya Vriksha Dance Company, including for Pravasi Bhartiya Divas in Kerala, Neemrana Music Festival, and Rajasthan Tourism Festival. In the UK (Since 2017), she continues her journey as a young artist and a versatile dancer performing at various events and festivals, including the Independence Gala the Royal Albert Hall in 2017 with Guru Geetha Sridhar of Natyasri dance school in London. In addition to her passion for dance, Pranita graduated with an M.A in Development Studies from the University of Sussex, UK, and continues to work with charities and not-for-profit organisations as an International Development professional.
Pranita will showcase the traditional repertoire of Bharatanatyam, highlighting abstract concepts of love, longing, devotion, joy and celebration.
