Yudhajit Roy, an M.A. in Vocal Classical Music from Rabindra Bharati University has undergone training from the renowned Guru of Patiala Gharana, Smt. Meera Bandopadhyay and from Rasaraj Guru Sri. Nidanbandhu Bandopadhyay. He is a recipient of Senior Scholarship in Khayal from the Govt. Of India.He has also received various awards like the Best Youngest Talent Singer Trophy from The Dover Lane Music Conference, Khorshed T. Mulla Trophy from Swar Sadhna Samity, Mumbai and National Sangeet Shiromoni Award, to name a few.
Soumita Roy is a disciple of Padmabhushan Guru C.V. Chandrashekhar and Guru Thankamani Kutty. She is an M.A. in Odissi from Rabindra Bharati University. She is trained in the Uday Shankar Style of Dance from Amala Shankar and Tanusree Shankar. Having received a Senior Scholarship in Bharatanatyam from the Govt. Of. India, she has had the honour of receiving the National Nritya Shiromoni Award, Cuttack Mahotsav.
Yudhajit will commence his recital with Khayal followed by Thumri, Dadra and Bhajan, while Soumita would be presenting a Bharatanatyam Recital.
They will finally present a Jugalbandi of North Indian Music with Bharatanatyam.
