The first performance is a Veenavadan by international artist R.P. Pramod, known as Rudrapatna Veena Brothers, are sons of renowned vocalist Vidwan Sri. R.K. Prasanna Kumar. From a seven-generation musical lineage, Pramod began his Veena journey at age 3, trained by esteemed maestros, and debuted in 2003 with numerous performances on TV, radio, and live concerts.
The Veena, India’s national instrument, is central to Carnatic classical music. Featuring 24 frets, four melody strings, and three drone strings, it symbolizes the human spinal cord. Most songs start with Raga Alapana, an improvisational exploration of a raga's melodic framework, performed without rhythm to capture its emotional essence. This is followed by Swara Prastara, a rhythmic improvisation of the raga's notes, showcasing technical skill. Percussion artists enhance the performance with dynamic rhythms, creating an immersive experience.
This will be followed a Bharatnatyam recital by Veda Venkatesh Bhat, a gifted Carnatic vocalist and Bharatanatyam dancer, trained under Gurus DS Srivatsa and Dr. Soundarya Srivatsa. A Kempegowda awardee, she has performed 500+ shows and contributed to South Indian films. Bharatanatyam, an ancient dance form from Tamil Nadu, harmonizes body, mind, and spirit.
Through Nritha (technical dance) and Abhinaya (expressive storytelling), it channels energy and emotion, fostering deep spiritual connection. The performance will honor deities like Nataraja, Shakthi, Ganesha, and Lord Rama, bridging physical movement with divine expression.
