Navrasa, translated as “the nine emotions”, come from the Natyashastra - the ancient Indian theory on arts. A fundamental concept for most forms of Indian arts including dance, music, theatre, painting, the rasas are defined as the shared emotions that connect the artist and the audience. Shringara (love), Karuna (sorrow), Hasya (mirth), Raudra (anger), Adbutha (wonder), Bhayanaka(fear), Veera( courage), Bibhatsya (disgust), and Shantha (peace) - Here we take you on a journey, through these Navrasas, by means of classical Indian dances and iconic Indian music pieces.
