The exhibition explores the artist’s relationship with her rich culture and heritage through Indian woodblock printing. Her diverse work embraces a connection and respect to a traditional art form through unexpected compositions. She sees Indian woodblock as a powerful print medium linking the past with a new generation. The audience will have the opportunity to experience the art of woodblock printing during the week of the exhibition.

Neera Sehgal was born in London and currently resides in Ealing. Her work explores printmaking using traditional Indian woodblocks in non-traditional ways and is a reflection and an expression of her Indian heritage and the connection she feels to her culture. Alongside printmaking, Neera facilitates workshops at Pitzhanger Manor Gallery in Ealing to share the joy of block printing with the wider society. Neera’s work has been showcased in a few issues of Pressing matters magazine and she has exhibited her work in local collective arts.

Neera's Indian woodblock print, 'Meditate', was exhibited at this year's Royal Academy of Arts Summer Exhibition.
