Sukhada Kane is a Hindustani classical vocalist whose singing blends Jaipur gharana gayaki with flavors of the Agra-Gwalior gharanas. She has received training under renowned vocalists of the Jaipur gharana, the late Pt. Anandrao Limaye and the late Kamal Tambe (disciple of Mogubai Kurdikar). Continuing her musical journey, Sukhada learned the intricacies of Agra and Gwalior gharana gayaki from her father-in-law the late Pt. D. V.Kanebuwa. Her presentation gives importance to raag structure, diction, and finesse in singing, embellishing the raag with intricacies of the Agra gharana as well as complex taansfrom the Jaipur gharana. Sukhada has a large repertoire of both traditional compositions of the Gwalior-Agra gharanas as well as many rarely heard complex raags of the Jaipur Gharana.
For over three decades, Sukhada has performed at many prestigious venues across India, such as Alladiya Khan Smruti Samaroha, Ustad Vilayat Hussein Khan Sangeet Sabha, Pannalal Ghosh Smriti Sangeet Sabha, DMCC Mumbai, Gharana Sammelan, Swar-Sadhana, N.C.P.A. Mumbai, Anand-Parva Jaipur Gharana Sammelan and many more. Sukhada is an 'A' Grade artist of All India Radio and an empaneled artist of ICCR.
